This is an excellent pizza dough recipe. I can make a pizza and have it ready for dinner in less than 30 minutes. Also makes great Stromboli dough. We have Stromboli parties and the kids get to make their own personal boli. A messy but tasty time. I think I got this from the Fleishman’s website.

Difficulty: Easy

Servings: 3-5

Prep Time: 1 minute 30 second   Cook Time: 10-30 minutes

Ingredients

3 c flour
2 1/2 tsp rapid rise yeast
3/4 tsp salt
2 T olive oil
1 T sugar
3/4 to 1 cup very warm but not HOT! water

I will sometimes substitute garlic salt for the regular salt or add minced garlic to the dough.

Directions

Makes 1 (14-inch) thick-crust pizza or 2 (12-inch) think-crust pizzas.

Insert metal blade in food processor bowl. Add flour, undissolved yeast, salt, and sugar. Process 5-10 seconds to combine. Add oil. Begin processing, and then slowly pour water through feed tube just until ball forms, about 10-15 seconds (all water may not be needed). Continue processing 60 seconds to knead dough. Carefully remove dough and blade from processor bowl. Shape dough into ball. Cover; let rest on floured surface 10 minutes. Shape, top, and bake at 400 for 10-30 minutes.

Hello – have you ever made then froze this?
It’s so handy to have things like this on hand
    thx

I have made this and shaped in small tin pie pans. I baked for about 5 minutes, then placed the semi-baked crusts in a freezer bag and placed in the freezer. My kids could then make their own pizzas. After the got older they mixed up the dough themselves. It makes awesome stromboli as well.

Thank you – that might work out even better. We’ve started using an outdoor stove we made and I use tiles to bake untopped pizza crusts. If I do it your way, I could skip that step and just place toppings and bake on the tiles.
    Anxious to try this!

  4. kellyb says:

Let us know how it works for you. I’d love to hear more about your outdoor stove. Pictures would be great!

With the huge amount of tomatoes, basil and oregano from the garden this will make an awesome dinner tonight. Thanks for this one Kelly B

Thank you for this recipe, kellyb. I usually “try” to plan ahead and put pizza dough in the bread machine for convenience…..this should be perfect for those “impromtu” days!

  7. kellyb says:

I’ve given up on the planning! 🙂 This recipe allows me to make pizza faster than we could have it delivered, that’s a huge bonus. We use this to make strombolis. They’re one of my family’s favorite meals. If you like the taste of garlic, try using garlic salt in place of the regular salt. Tasty!

The pizza crust was was great. I thought for a minute that my small KA FP wouldn’t handle that amount of dough (work bowl cover of large KA is broken) but with enough pulsing it worked just fine. Thanks again for that easy peasy recipe. DH liked it very much and I liked the ease of the process.

  9. kellyb says:

So glad you liked the recipe. People can’t believe it’s as tasty as it is with so little work. I can’t begin to tell you the number of times this recipe came to the rescue at dinner time.

Kelly,I think this is the best pizza dough recipe I’ve ever used! And it was too easy! And it has an awesome flavor!

I used to work in a pizza place and Sam (niece) has also. We made breakfast pizzas tonight. We were actually able to toss the dough! (Well not very high…only have 10 foot ceilings :)) You can’t find that in all pizza dough recipes!

    Thank you!

  11. kellyb says:

    CindyP,

So glad you liked this. As I said, many people can’t believe it tastes good because it’s so easy.

My son has tried tossing this dough as well, my ceiling tells the story!

    Breakfast pizzas? Tell me more.

Darn it, KellyB, now I have to buy a food processor as there are no instructions on how to make my fingers go around a bowl that fast. I know everyone who has one loves theirs.

  13. kellyb says:

    cincyjojo,

Great mental picture I have of your fingers whirling away! I’m proud to be a kitchen gadget enabler. Get a good food processor, you’ll use it constantly, expecially for canning and dehydrating!
