Servings: 6 servings
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
6 medium cinnamon sticks, broken into pieces
1. In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil with the sugar and cinnamon sticks.
2. Simmer over moderate heat for 3 minutes, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
3. Let cool, then cover and let stand for 4 hours.
4. Strain the syrup into a jar,
5. Cover and refrigerate for up to 1 month.
Yield: about 12 oz.
