I keep the ingredients on hand because it’s so easy to whip up a few. They are a great snack to serve with a glass of wine.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: As many as you want
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 20-30 minutesIngredients
Pitted whole dates
Bacon (don’t use thick-sliced)
Hard cheese such as Parmesan, Asiago, Pecorino
Directions
Preheat oven to at least 375 degrees.
Push a small piece of cheese into each date.
Wrap date with 1/2 slice bacon (sometimes 1/3 slice is enough). Place on rimmed baking sheet.
Bake, turning once, until bacon is crispy. It will take at least 30 minutes at 375 degrees. Sometimes I go hotter or even use the broiler. Just watch them closely.
