My mom found this recipe in a magazine and gave it to me when I was a new mom and was trying to figure out how to care for a new baby and still cook something good for a hungry husband. This stew is super duper easy and tastes great. I have used both beef and venison, both fresh and the frozen veggies and it always turns out well no matter the combination. Cooking the meat in the crock pot insures it will be nice and tender.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 4-6
Prep Time: 5-10 minutes Cook Time: 5-6 hrs high 10-12 hrs lowIngredients
2 – 16oz packages of frozen stew vegetables
1 – 2 pounds lean stew meat
2 – 10 oz cans tomato soup
1/2 cup water
2 Tbl dried minced onion
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Directions
Place frozen veggies on the bottom of the crock pot, then add stew meat on top. (No need to brown
it). Combine the rest of the ingredients and pour over the meat. Cook on low for 10-12 hours or high for 5-6 hours.
***If you have a larger crock pot or want to make a larger portions, just add extra meat, veggies and soup mix accordingly. I often follow this recipe using fresh potatoes, carrots, onions, celery and cabbage and it cooks up just as nicely.***
