A great addition to any summer picnic.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 8-10
Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 1 1 1/2 hoursIngredients
1 – 40 oz. can Great Northern Beans, drained reserving liquid
1- 15 1/2 oz can Great Northern Beans
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Karo Corn Syrup
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 medium onion finely diced
Directions
Add all sauce ingredients and mix well. Pour sauce over beans, mix well. May add 8-9 slices of fried bacon cut into pieces. Bake at 350 degrees for 1- 1 1/2 hours. After 45 minutes check to see if you need to add additional reserved bean liquid. Can also make in crockpot set on low for 6 -8 hours.
Note: I used my home canned beans and often substitute Navy beans for the Great Northern. So far, no one has complained!
