Sourdough Batter which is used to make the Sourdough Pancakes.
1 cup of water
1 Tbsp sugar
1 cup flour
4 Tbsp commercial buttermilk
Mix water with sugar. Add flour and buttermilk. Mix all together and place in a glass or stainless-steel bowl. Do Not use aluminum. Cover with a towel and allow to stand in a warm place for a few days, or until it has begun to ferment and has a wonderful sour smell. You might keep this on the top of the water heater or in your oven and leave the light on all the time. The starter should be the consistency of pancake batter and it can be covered and stored in the refrigerator.

I was curious about this, I never have buttermilk in my house. But I know I can make a sort of buttermilk by one cup milk to 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. Would this work for this starter?
