Here is an easy recipe that looks like you worked all morning to make up. It’s great for pot lucks, but is best eaten the day you make it.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 12 -16
Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 30 minutesIngredients
Crust:
1 cup water
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup flour
4 eggs
Filling:
8 oz. softened cream cheese
2 small boxes instant vanilla pudding
2 1/2 cups milk
2 Tbs. whipped cream or whipped topping from the grocery
Directions
For the crust: Boil water, add flour and butter. Stir hard! Immediately remove from heat and add eggs, one at a time while still stirring vigorously. Batter will be very thick. Spread in a lightly greased 9×13 pan, bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Cool the crust in the pan.
For the filling: Beat cream cheese, vanilla pudding, milk and whipped cream together with a wire whip. Spread over cooled crust and top with more whipped cream. Drizzle chocolate syrup on top. Refrigerate until needed. If you’re feeling fancy, shave a chocolate bar over it.
