I got this recipe from our church cookbook. It was submitted by Roxanne. She is a fab. cook. These bars are chewy, sweet (but not overly) I don’t know where she got the recipe. I think they are super good, hope you like them as much as we do.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: depends on how big you cut them
Ingredients
1 cup butter
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbsp water
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups uncooked quick oats
1/2 cup chopped nuts (I use 1 cup walnuts)
1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
Cream together: butter, sugars, vanilla, water, and eggs.
Add: flour, soda, salt, uncooked quick oats, and chopped nuts.
Mix thoroughly.
Put into 9×13 sprayed pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Bake in 325 oven for 3-4 min. Remove, using a knife swirl chocolate chips to marble. Return to oven and bake 20-30 minutes. Cool cut into squares.

These sound yummy, odell! The recipe is very similar to my oatmeal cookies, only spread out in a pan. Will definitely try this! Thanks for posting.

i used only 1/2c each white & brown sugar. It’s more like cake than cookie, but it hasn’t even cooled yet so we shall see upon further review later. But so far DELICIOUS!
