Servings: 6-8 depending on serving size.Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: About 25 minutes
3-5 lbs of ground chuck (or burger, etc.)
5-6 large potatoes, washed and peeled (or leave the skins on, if you prefer)
Garlic to your taste (optional)
Teaspoon salt (or less if you prefer)
Pepper to your taste
Brown your burger in a large, heavy pan with garlic, onion, salt and pepper. (Cast iron is great for this meal.)
While the burger is browning, cube the potatoes. When the burger is cooked, add the potatoes to the browned burger. Cook thoroughly on medium/low temp. Stir frequently. Once cooked, drain any excess fat.
Serve with ketchup or hot-sauce.
Add canned beans or corn as a side dish and homemade Grandmother bread and you have a delicious simple meal that takes little money and gets rave reviews from my children’s friends when they visit (and my husband loves it, too.)
