I made a simple milk gravy with some of the sausage drippings from Suzanne’s Biscuits & Gravy to pour over the top. Or if you’re using the hamburger version, you could make up some gravy using the Homemade Cream of Beef Soup. This was something my family loved!! Meat, potato, gravy, and homemade bread all in one! And…it tastes great the next morning with the top just buttered!!!
Difficulty: Intermediate
Servings: 12 rolls
Prep Time: 2 hrs (using homemade bread dough) Cook Time: 45 minIngredients
1 loaf of bread dough
1 lb sausage (or could use hamburger for that version of it)
3 small potatoes, peeled, diced
1 small onion, diced
1 small green pepper, diced
Directions
Brown sausage, drain.
Fry potatoes, onion, and green pepper together, adding spices of your choice.
Roll bread dough in a rectangle shape, approximately 10×16. Spread potato mixture and sausage over leaving 1? of bare dough on 1 of the long sides.
Roll up from the long side (just like cinnamon rolls), pinching the end into the dough.
Cut roll into 2? pieces or so.
Place into a greased, large pan. I used a 10×15.
Cover with towel and let rise, approximately 30 minutes.
Place into a preheated 350 oven. Bake until all golden brown, about 45 minutes.
