This is my great-grandmother’s recipe, adapted for the microwave. A good way to use up apples that have started to wither a little. You don’t have to be exact with this recipe!
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 4-5 cups
Prep Time: 10 min. or so Cook Time: 12-15 min. including set timeIngredients
6 c apples, peeled & cut up (I use Cortlands but any kind will do)
1/2 c water (or a little more if apples are old)
1/4 c sugar to taste
Directions
Prepare apples & put the apples and water into a large microwave-safe bowl (I use my biggest yellow Pyrex mixing bowl).
Cook, covered, on HI 10-12 minutes.
Let sit in microwave for 3 minutes.
Stir well with whisk. It may need to cook another minute or two, depending on what kind of apples you used.
Stir in sugar.
Store in refrigerator.
