Difficulty: Easy
Servings: Equal to number of mice
Ingredients
Maraschino cherries with stems on – one cherry for each mouse
Hershey’s milk chocolate Kisses – one Kiss for each mouse
Sliced almonds – 2 matching slices per mouse
Melted milk chocolate – enough to cover each cherry
Small amount of white icing
Directions
Pat dry the cherries. Unwrap the Kisses. Select pairs of matching sliced almonds to make the mouse ears. Line a tray with parchment paper or waxed paper. Caution: You will need to work quickly once you start assembling the mice, so make sure the Kisses and pairs of ears are ready to go.
The cherry will be the mouse body and the stem is the tail. Holding the cherry by the stem, dip the cherry into the melted chocolate. The stem is left bare. Place the cherry on its belly on the prepared tray. Make the head by pressing the flat side of a Kiss onto the body opposite the tail. The pointy side of the Kiss will be the mouse’s nose. Slip a pair of matched almond ears between the head and the body so they stick in the melted chocolate. The parts should stay in place within a few seconds.
Repeat until you have made as many mice as you wish.
When the mice are completely set, pipe on 2 white dots for eyes.
