This makes enough for 2 1 lb loaves of bread, the texture is of a french bread and the flavor is that of italian bread. I make this to go along with my homemade pot of spaghetti sauce with noodles. Which honestly I do not know why I make the noodles , we use so much of the buttered bread and dip it I do not need the noodles ! I make 2 loaves just so I can have one for the next day, the 4 of us finish off a 1 lb loaf at each meal.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 4 or more
Prep Time: 15 to 30 minutes Cook Time: 25 to 30 minutesIngredients
1 1/2 cups warm water
3 tble extra virgin olive oil
1 1/4 tsp. salt
4 cups of bread flour
1 tble of italian seasoning
1 tsp of garlic salt
2 1/2 tsp yeast, active dry, instant , or bread machine
Directions
Add all of the ingredients to the bread machine according to your bread machine instructions. Set to the dough cycle. Remove from the machine once the dough cycle is complete, shape the dough according to your bread pan, I use a french bread pan, it actually is 2 pans joined together to form 2 large long french bread loafs. Set the pan in a warm place and cover lightly, allow to rise until double. Since I made the amount for 2 – 1 lb loafs, that is what I have. Bake at 350 for approx 25 to 30 minutes, it depends on how dark you want your crust. Allow to cool before slicing, I know it is the hardest part, waiting.
