Biscuit recipe from old Favorite Southern Recipes cookbook.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 2 dozen
Ingredients
2 cups self-rising flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
1 cup buttermilk
Directions
Combine the flour and salt and cut in the shortening. Stir in buttermilk until well blended. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness on floured cutting board. Cut out biscuits with biscuit cutter. Place on lightly greased baking sheet and bake 15 – 20 minutes at 425 degrees.
