Cheesy bread appetizer. Perfect for parties. They are best when warm, but also taste good once they’ve cooled down.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 6-8
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutesIngredients
1 baguette
1/2 lb. shredded cheese (I use a combination of cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan…use whatever you have handy)
1 c. mayonnaise
Other ingredients you may want to try…
1 – 4 oz can chopped green chiles
4 green onions (chopped)
Cooked ground sausage
*Measurements are approximations. The more cheese you use, the more mayo you’ll need.
Directions
Slice baguette into 1/4 inch thick slices and lay slices out on a cookie sheet. Combine cheese, mayonnaise, and Italian seasoning in a bowl. If you are adding other ingredients (i.e., green onion), you would add it here. The consistency should be that of a thick paste. Feel free to add more cheese or mayo to get the right consistency. Spread the cheese mixture on the baguette. Place in the oven on broil. Broil until bubbly and starting to brown. Serve warm.
