This is one of my go to recipes for just about any time we are having people over, or just have the serious munchies. I get asked to make it for all sorts of occasions. You just can’t beat a good Queso!!
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: Lots! No double dipping!!
Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 1/2 hourIngredients
1 2 pound block Velveeta
1/4 cup milk
1 pound pork sausage (hot, mild, whatever you like!)
1 small onion
1 can diced green chilies
Directions
Cube 2 pound block of Velveeta (store bought, or homemade)
Melt with 1/4 cup milk over low heat, stirring constantly.
In another pan, brown 1 pound sausage, we like the hot stuff, but use what works for you.
Drain off all but 2 Tbsp. fat, remove sausage and in the same pan add 1 small onion diced fine, soften for a few minutes, and add 1 can diced green chilies.
Let this cook for a few minutes, and take off the heat.
Pour melted cheese, sausage, and onion/chilies mix, into crock pot set on warm, if you have it, low if you don’t.
Let it all get all warm and ooey-gooey together for about 1/2 an hour, and dig in with your favorite chips.
We also add extra chilies, but we like it really hot!
Enjoy!
