I first made these a few years ago – coated with white chocolate – and gave everyone in the office 6 each. There were truffle wars! A few who managed to stash a few and then let the secret out were threatened with bodily harm LOL. They are a bit time consuming but very worth it.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Servings: varies
Ingredients
1 pound Oreo Cookies (3 sleeves or 45 cookies)
1 – 8 oz Cream Cheese at room temperature
1 pound Melting milk chocolate
1/2 pound Melting White chocolate
Directions
Using a food processor, grind cookies to a fine powder.
Using mixer, blend cookie powder and cream cheese until thoroughly mixed (should be no white traces of cream cheese).
Roll into small balls and place on wax-lined cookie sheet.
Refrigerate for 45 minutes.
Line two cookie sheets with wax paper.
In double-boiler or microwave, melt milk chocolate.
Dip balls and coat thoroughly.
With slotted tool, lift ball out of chocolate and let excess chocolate drip off.
Place on wax-paper lined cookie sheet.
In separate double boiler, melt white chocolate.
Using a fork, drizzle white chocolate over balls.
(Or be creative and coat them however you want!)
Store in airtight container in refrigerator or very cool room.

Dede,
I forgot about this recipe, haven’t made them in a few years but saw your recipe and just finished a batch. They are so darn good they should be illegal. Rich and delicious. If you eat them standing up, there are no calories or at least that’s what I’m trying to convince myself.

Hey that works! 😉
Yes, they should be illegal. I only make them when I have to give most of them away and quickly LOL!
