These are especially popular with men – more men have asked for the recipe when I have served these than women. Delicious – sweet, savory, salty in one bite. Hold well at room temp.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: unlimited!
Ingredients
whole water chestnuts, drained well, cut in half
pineapple tidbits (I cut my own from pineapple rings)
green onions, cleaned and cut the white and light green portions into pieces 1/2″ long
bacon – cheap, thin, stretchy bacon, cut slices in half
Directions
Thread a water chestnut half, a piece of pineapple, and an onion piece onto a toothpick.
Wrap a piece of bacon around all three, covering all as much as possible
(secure with a second toothpick if needed)
Repeat until all ingredients are used …..
Marinate in a drizzle of Dale’s Steak Seasoning OR if that’s not available, mix soy sauce, garlic and ginger (lots of garlic and ginger) and drizzle some of that over all.
When ready to serve, heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake until bacon is crisping and browning. Serve.
