A great little salad for cutting through some of the richness between dishes. Recipe was inherited from my grandmother, she made it every Thanksgiving and it was a frequent request at potlucks. I love putting a dollop on my left-over turkey sandwiches instead of cranberry sauce. *serving size is an estimate, I could eat the whole thing myself!
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 8
Prep Time: a few hours to set Cook Time: 10 minutesIngredients
2 (3 oz.) packages Orange gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 pint orange sherbet
1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges (more can be used but the salad doesn’t set as well, I add them at time of serving)
1 envelope Dream Whip or most of a small container pre-made non-dairy whipped topping.
Directions
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, add sherbet and mix well. When partially set mix up Dream Whip/non-dairy topping, fold in oranges (reserving some for garnish if you so choose) and cream. Chill.
