Another quick & easy recipe. I have made this in a 2 layer size cake. Did one layer with strawberry gelatin to represent girl..other layer blue colored gelatin to represent boy to take to baby shower. It was a big hit! Decorated it with baby decorations.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 1 - 9 x 13 inch pan or double layer cake size
Prep Time: No time at all to mix up a boxed cake Cook Time: Directions on back of boxIngredients
1 package (2 layer size) white cake mix
1 cup boiling water
1 package (4-ounce size) Jell-O brand gelatin (any flavor can be used) I usually use strawberry
1/2 cup cold water
1 tub ( 8 ounce) cool whip whipped topping thawed
Directions
Prepare and bake the cake in 13 x 9 inch pan as directed on package. Remove from oven. Let cool in pan 15 minutes. Pierce cake with large fork at 1/2 inch intervals.
Meanwhile, stir boiling water into gelatin in small bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water; carefully pour over pierced cake. Refrigerate 3 hours.
Frost with whipped topping. Refrigerate at least 1 hour until ready to serve. Decorate as desired with colored sprinkles or sliced strawberries if you used strawberry gelatin.
