This was my sister’s recipe. We used to make this together! She passed away two years ago, so I posted this in her honor! Everyone loves this.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: Eight
Prep Time: Ten minutes Cook Time: Thirty minutesIngredients
1lb of Salted Butter
2 Cups of Sugar
2 Cups of Chopped Almonds
1 lb of Milk or Dark Chocolate
Directions
Using a heavy duty skillet, add 2 cups of sugar and 1lb of salted butter (yes one pound). Have two cups of chopped almonds ready and 1lb of milk or dark chocolate. Cook the sugar and butter mixture on medium high heat. Stir this mixture constantly so it does not burn or separate. Cook until it turns the color of peanut butter. Add one cup of chopped almonds and pour out on to a jelly roll or heavy duty cookie sheet. Top with your chocolate and spread, then sprinkle one cup of chopped almonds. Let this cool, then break up into pieces. Enjoy! Great for holidays or anytime.
