Uses only one dish and Kids Love It!!! What could be better??
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 6 (depending on size of squash)
Prep Time: 10 mins. Cook Time: 15 minutes (depending on size and type of squash)Ingredients
1 squash (I prefer butternut)
1 apple (I prefer Granny Smith), peeled and diced
2 T butter
2 T brown sugar
cinnamon to taste, optional
Directions
Slice squash in half. Put face up in a glass dish, covered. Microwave on high until soft (this depends on size and type of squash as well as microwave), probably around 5 minutes. Remove seeds and peel. Cut into chunks. Return to microwave in same dish and cover and cook until soft (but not ready to mash). Add apple and butter. Place in microwave (in same dish and cover) and cook on high until easily shredded (don’t “mash”). Add brown sugar and cinnamon. Serve.
