I found this recipe in a “Minnesota Hot Dish” cook book. I thought of the long grain and wild rice make over mix that was posted here a few days back by Suzanne. I myself have not tried this recipe.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: serves 8
Cook Time: bake 1 hour 350 degreesIngredients
1 6-ounce package long grain and wild rice mix, cooked according to package ingredients.
1 10-ounce can condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1 cup water
3 cups cubed cooked turkey
1 cup chopped celery
5 tablespoons chopped onion
1 5-ounce can water chestnuts. drained
1 4-ounce can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 1/2 cups buttered soft bread crumbs
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Directions
In a bowl, combine cooked rice and remaining ingredients except bread crumbs and parsley; mix well.
Spoon mixture into a lightly buttered 3-quart baking dish. Top with bread crumbs. Bake 1 hour at 350F.
Remove from oven. Sprinkle with parsley.
