Last year I made refrigerator pickles using Ball pickle mix. Now I could go out and buy it again, but would like to make my own. These were so good and I have made refrigerator pickles with my own mix but there is just something in the Ball mix that I can’t get in my own recipes I try. Has any one here been able to duplicate that good yummy taste, it seems kinda tangy, soury, crisp and oh so good. Y’all know what I’m talking about if you have ever used it. Why can’t I duplicate it?

These sound yummy, and i will surely try them. I have never tried using pickle crisp though. Gotta go get some. Thanks.

Mary, I just updated both of those recipes for more clarity and to note the optional use of Pickle Crisp on the Refrigerator Pickles recipe. Pickle Crisp really makes a difference in the texture and retains the crispness, but both recipes are great without it.
