This is an old recipe from my recipe file. One of my favorite things to BBQ.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 6 to 8 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 1 hour 2-3 minutesIngredients
2 pounds ground round
1-1/2 cups fresh bread crumbs
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon basil, crushed
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
15 ounce can tomato herb sauce
3 slices Mozzarella cheese, cut in half diagonally
Directions
Mix ground round with bread crumbs, onion, green pepper, egg, basil, salt, pepper and 1 cup tomato herb sauce. Pat mixture into 9-inch foil pie pan which has been placed inside another foil pan for extra strength. Place pan on BBQ grill, 4 to 5 inches above glowing coals. Brush surface of Pizza Loaf with some remaining tomato herb sauce and lower hood.
Cook 1 hour, basting occasionally with remaining sauce. After 1 hour arrange Mozzarella cheese slices on top of loaf. Cover again until cheese melts.
