Classic, old-fashioned pie crust! I don’t skip eating my pie crust with this one!!
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 5 pies
Prep Time: 15 minIngredients
5 cups flour
1 pound lard
1 tablespoon salt
2 large eggs
1/4 cup vinegar
add icy cold water to fill vinegar cup
Directions
Mix flour, lard, and salt. Pea sized bits of lard should be made. Then stir in the eggs and vinegar water. Just stir to bring it together. Chill. Roll into pies — either top or bottoms of. (Great also for crust to pot pies!) Works best with using lard. Rub with milk and sprinkle with sugar to get nicely browned top on your pie. Dough freezes well.
