This is moist meat loaf that we have enjoyed many times. Great with baked potatoes, salad and vegetable.
Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 6
Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 50 minutesIngredients
2 lbs ground chuck
2 slices white or regular wheat bread
1/2 cup mild
2 eggs
1 finely chopped onion
1/2 t black pepper
1/2 t salt
1/2 cup catsup
1 t yellow mustard
1 T brown sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place bread in bottom of large bowl. Pour milk over the top and let bread soak up the milk. Add eggs, onion and seasonings. Mix enough to blend and break up the bread. Add ground chuck and mix all ingredients well.
Shape into either a round or oblong loaf. Place into a ovenproof 1 1/2″ – 2″ deep pan a little larger than the loaf. Put into oven for about 35 minutes. Remove from oven and dip out and grease and any clotted meat juices. Mix catsup, mustard and brown sugar. Spread onto loaf and return to oven for about 15 minutes.
