If you are a canner or interested in canning, I have some good ones 🙂 I do have a really good salad dressing recipe that is no salt – commercial dressings are SO high in sodium! This one is so good that I make it in bulk for the salad for big fund raising dinners because folks ask for it. Keep a jar of it in the frig at work, too. Will post it this morning.

Thanks Dede! I am not as much the canner as my mom is. But, my husband and I have our first garden planted! I am definitely on the prowl for low-sodium canning ideas.
BTW, where will you post the recipe for the dressing? I am new to Farm Bell so don’t really know what you mean by “posting” the recipe.

Laura, on the main page here on Farm Bell, you can click on ‘Browse Recipes’ to find ALL the recipes. To find something specific, there is a fantastic search feature on the top/right on each page where you can search by part of a recipe name OR ingredients. Posting a recipe just means that I typed it in and submitted it and now it’s stored here. I named it Dede’s Italian Dressing (No Salt!).

Thanks, I will go look for it now. I had tried searching for “low-sodium” recipes just about a week ago on the Farm Bell with no success. Hopefully people will start posting them.
Thanks again, ~Laura

The low-sodium recipes are in the categories (on the left sidebar) under Special Diets. Then click into the drop down menu on the right, then Low-Sodium. There are quite a few in there…..time will only give us more 🙂

Thanks Cindy! I will check it out.
Dede – I am very interested in your posting your low/no-sodium canning recipes! My husband and I are going to start canning and will need some help! Thanks!

Laura – in canning, salt is NOT needed except in pickling and fermenting, so low sodium isn’t hard to achieve. Of course, there is that FLAVOR issue LOL. One of my goals was to make myself a V8 substitute and I did! It’s in the Recipes here. (Vegetable Cocktail)
