Hi, my friends gave me 2 bottles of Elderberry Wine they made. But, they said it didn’t turn out very well and that using it for cooking would be fine. Has anyone cooked with Elderberry wine? I honestly have never cooked anything with wine at all. Any suggestions? If not, it sure is pretty in the bottles and just looks nice in my cabinet. I might have to test taste it here pretty soon to see if they were right 🙂 Thanks, Angelina

Elderberry wine is not a known taste to me, but the first thing that jumped to mind would be wine jelly … even if this not-so-good wine is a bit sharp, add enough sugar according to the many wine jelly recipes out there and it should make a lush treat!
The other alternative would be to push the wine to vinegar (re-bottle and gift back some to the winemakers!) … the Forum has had a broad discussion of the how-to’s and links.
