I am trying to figure out how to make a homemade coffee creamer. I was upset to find that the store bought versions have high fructose corn syrup. I am so trying to cut that out of my food supply.
Anyway, I have seen a number of recipes for hot chocolate and even soups that call for using coffee creamer. I am thinking that powdered milk would do but seems I might need to add something to that to get the creamy texture. Any ideas?

I’ve run into this problem before too, and have used powdered milk sucessfully, although you’re probably going to need to add a bit of sugar to compensate too. For some reason I’ve found that the creamers in the store have a sweeter flavor than non-fat milk. I’ve never figured out an exact ratio (maybe somebody else can help here?) but usually just add a bit of sugar as I see fit for the recipe I’m using. I’ve never had a problem with powdered milk as a substitution causing texture issues.
Hope this helps!

Over on the forum, we had a discussion on this a while back. A couple people tried and tested and reconfigured the recipe. You can take a look there and see if you’d like to try it? I haven’t tried it so I don’t want to put the recipe up here.

Ok, I tried a variation of what was posted on the forum! I’ll submit it — Coffee Creamer, Powdered.
