Creamy Beef and Veggies Crock Pot Dish?

Aug
22

I am looking for some recipes for beef, steak, and vegetables such as peppers or onions, potatoes, carrots, either broth or soup, but it needs to be a creamy something something!!!!! I would like to try something different and I don’t seem to be real handy at searching the right way. My husband isn’t a big fan of brothy type stuff so that is why it has to be a creamy type, clear or not. I hope this is making sense. So…….what is out there and I hope you are all having a great day.

I recommend the Crockpot Pepper Steak recipe I posted in Farm Bell – it has a nice, clear gravy/sauce that I think is one that you are looking for? Also, you can get a nice creamy sauce/gravy for many things in the crockpot by mixing a cream of whatever soup with a packet of dry gravy mix. Great shortcut for smothered steak. Golden Mushroom soup with nothing added is wonderful with pork chops and cabbage and carrots. If you aren’t comfortable with commercially canned soups, you can can your own – I do!

OKAY now you realley have me curious, it just so happens I have a bunch of pork chops in thr fridge right now, cabbsge in the garden, and carrots that need to get used and I have 2 cans of golden mushroom soup so what is the recipe for this one my husband loves cabbage and so do I ps thanks for helping

barbyellen, no recipe, just brown off the chops quickly in a skillet. Spray the inside of your crockpot with oil or grease it. Put a little of the soup in the bottom (straight from the can). Add peeled and sliced carrots and the cabbage in small wedges (or however you want it) and I add some onion too. You can dollop a bit of the soup on the layers as you go if you want. Layer the chops on the veggies and pour/schmeer the rest of the soup over them. I like to start on High for about an hour and then turn it down to low and let it go 6 hours or more until the chops are fork tender. You can bread/flour the chops first if you prefer. No rules lol. It just tastes SO good when it all cooks together.

I do a pot roast with roast (beef, venison or whatever) carrots, taters, ect…… 1 can of cream of mushroom soup and 1/2 can of cola. It is so yummy!! Cream of mushroom soup with any kind of meat in the crock pot turns out good. I also make a stew in the crockpot with stew meat, stew veggies and the sauce is 1-2 cans of tomato soup with salt/pepper and dried minced onion—just dump it over the stuff already in the crock pot. I love this one—you don’t even have to brown the stew meat like you normally would.

It just so happens that yesterday I threw a huge package of pork chops in the crockpot with some onions and BBQ sauce. Layer of onions, layer of chops, some sauce smeared on top. Other veggies could easily have been added. We had really good chops with just the BBQ sauce and onions, though. Could be served with potatoes, noodles, rice or something.

Adding the garlic and hot sauce would really have been good. Carrots would have added some interest as well. Yum!

I make a pot roast in the slow cooker the way Laura does; the meat, potatoes, 3 carrots, 3 celery ribs, 1 can cream mushroom, 8oz coca cola, and also 1 pack of brown gravy mix and 1 pack onion soup mix. It’s delish!
Also pieces of chicken, mixed veggies, cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup, some broth, then pieces of biscuits on top for about the last hour, they become large like dumplings. Good autumn weather food!
