Mama’s Sweet and Sour Slaw

Place shredded cabbage in a bowl with tight-fitting lid. Boil sugar, vinegar, and celery seed together and pour hot mixture over shredded cabbage. Seal tightly and refrigerate overnight. Tip bowl upside down (hence the tight-fitting lid!) and shake whenever you think about it. Keeps several days in the refrigerator.
