In a large (3qt) casserole dish mix together all ingredients except one cup of shredded cheese. Top the dish with the remaining cheese and then cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove cover and bake until top cheese is melted.

***This is a casserole you can play around with to your taste — add more meat, more beans, more or less cheese as you like. I have always wondered if you could use a bag of frozen hash brown cubes, thawed, in place of the cooked potatoes just like you do in some of the cheesy potato recipes.
